The photos displayed show outstanding achievements in the conservation, enhancement and adaptation to new uses of cultural heritage in the following areas: architectural heritage; building additions or alterations; new building projects within historic areas; industrial and engineering structures and sites; cultural landscapes; historic parks and gardens; archaeological sites; and works of art.
In the exhibition, 108 project have been selected from amongst more than a 1000 laureates from both the Europa Nostra Awards, and from the joint Eurpean Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards. They reflect a time span from 1978 until today, and stem from 31 different European countries.
The projects chosen are arranged on thematic panels showing: museums, villas, heritage of the modern architecture and industrial heritage, religious buildings, bridges, interior and material conservation, cultural landscapes, archaeological sites and collections of works of art.
