Cibali Talks IX

Süleyman Faruk Göncüoğlu, the well-known art historian was the guest of the 9th session of the ongoing ‘Cibali Talks’ organized withing the scope of the ‘Cibali Tobacco and Cigarette Factory: Space of the Labor’.

In his speech, titled as ‘Cibali: A Monograph on the District Where the Tobacco Storehouse and Factory were Located’, he shared with the audience a short period of time regarding the boundaries, historical, cultural values and social changes of the Cibali District and its ancient heritage. Göncüoğlu explained the formation of civilization, its social and economic reflections and the role of economy in the establishment of districts on the axis of Unkapanı, Cibali and Haliç. He also had a pleasant conversation with the audience, ranging from the stories of the street names to the general history.
