Kadir Has University, always a step forward with its modern vision and pioneering position both in Turkey and Europe hosted an international academic and scientific activity. Local and international scientist, researchers discussed the rich heritage of our carpets and woven rugs (kilims) tradition throughout the historical trade ways from Caucasians to Middle Asia and to Anatolia together with the showpieces. Kadir Has University- Rezan Has Museum is proud to present this significant exhibition to the visitors in the frame of a conference program that is determinant on “Oriental Carpets” throughout the world; “Gönül Paksoy, Timeless Simplicity” Exhibition.

The exhibition of which Şahin Paksoy is the curator is composed of two parts, “collection” and “creation” and Gönül Paksoy has fascinated the visitors and captured their hearts with her designs carrying signs beyond time and centuries in this exhibition. Paksoy who accepted the new and the old as the components of universal harmony rather than contrariety and had the courage to get the traditional materials and contemporary elements together basing on her past experiences and unique painting technique has appeared in front of art lovers with her works on the cutting edge of creativity.

Paksoy has once again proved that the past is not a frozen, static situation, on the contrary it is carried to the present and to the world we live in by means of creativity and yet enriched our lives by making it more aesthetic and artistic through the caftans, clothes, jackets, shirts and vests as well as hats, purses, pins and rag dolls. Gönül Paksoy “Timeless Simplicity” exhibition together with the 11th International Conference on Carpets that opened on the 18th of April may be visited till the 5th of May.
