Kadir Has University Rezan Has Museum presents to art lovers and history aficionados yet another exceptional exhibition that will shed light to the evolution of writing. Displaying the adventure of writing from its birth as pictogram to its present state and demonstrating the impact writing and language has on societies, the exhibition entitled, ‘Whispers of Extinct Languages-II’ will be open to visitors between 24 April and 4 August 2014.Encompassing countless deciphered, indecipherable, unknown, and lost languages from pictograms to cuneiform, from Hittite and Phrygian to Urartian, Lycian, and Carian, and from Ancient Greek to Latin, the exhibition will welcome visitors until July 1st.

Tablet with Statistical Chart Inscription, Clay, Ancient Babylonian Period, 20th-16th centuries B.C.E. This tablet, which is revealing a statiscial chart, includes inscription about grain ration amounts, the person who delivers it, the remaining amount and the name of the receiver. Tha tablet, which lists the grain accounts of 68 individuals, identifies each of these receivers by giving their proffessions like door opener, accounting chief etc.
